The engraver was inspired to reconstruct the interior of this lively room by Flemish paintings. Despite an age gap of eighteen years, the two brothers were very close both in their family life and their work. In 1656, Thomas Corneille published Timocrate, a work of unequalled success that made him more famous than his brother at the time.
